Vita: 'We need more courage ...' ... is the motto of Frank Rehme, one of the most important thought leaders in the field of innovation and shaping the future of the city and the retail sector. With gmvteam GmbH and 'denkubator - Die Ideenmanufaktur', he has founded two companies that develop innovations in the retail and consumer goods industry. As a leading retail expert, strategy consultant and speaker, he develops practical answers to the questions of the future.

He is also head of the SME Digital Centre for Retail at the German Federal Ministry of Economics. There he was responsible for the realisation of the Retail Garage at Potsdamer Platz in Berlin as a new hotspot for retail innovation in Germany. As former Head of Innovation at the Metro Group, he brings a wealth of experience from national and international Future Store projects. The Retail Garage is a joint project of the Mittelstand-Digital Zentrum Handel, the German Retail Association and the EHI.

Its focus: people's needs with a view to the future. How will changing needs affect companies and society? What tasks will artificial intelligence take on in the future, and what does digitalisation mean? One answer to these questions is the "KI-Navi Handel" project, which he initiated and launched at the beginning of 2024 with the support of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia.
